PROPHET SUDDENLY, AROME OSAYI, THE WINLOS: MAKING A CASE FOR FALSE PROPHETS & THE BATTLE AGAINST THE “GENUINE” PROPHETIC - MY REVIEW (3)
I encourage the reader to check out the first two parts of this review in order to gain a good understanding of my foundational thoughts. I have made the links to the published posts available in the comments section.
The two-part movie beams the searchlight on the destructive ministry of false prophets. They are men who pretend to godliness but deny the power thereof (2 Tim. 3:5). They are like their master as described in John 10:10. It exposes their tricks- subtle, covert and overt - calling to the fore, the need to have discerning believers who outgrow the craze for miracles, the mysterious and prophecies at all cost.
The roguish role of hype men on some “prophetic” platforms is also an highlight. It makes no sense. It is silly and wrong. It is not even worthy of taking more of my time. If you defend it, subtly or frontally, I doubt your identity.
I understand the argument about the movie not giving the right balance by creating scenes where the genuine prophetic ministry is on show. I agree to some extent but largely disagree. The inclusion of Apostle Arome is not for aesthetics. His character is a subtle, yet emphatic contrast to whom Prophets Suddenly and Koffi are. He does not engage prophecies and all the associated expressions, but in his words, counsel, rebuke and decorum, he represents EVERYTHING genuine prophets should be.
I present one of his charges verbatim:
“When you are desperate about life and ministry, anxiety opens the door for spirit and entities looking for bodies to posses so that they can manipulate to so their bidding upon the earth…When centre of the ministry of a man is at “I”…such a minister is standing between two possibilities- (1) commit wholeheartedly to God or (2) commit wholeheartedly to fallen self which opens the door to mammon and makes everything available for sale. It becomes a trading floor, a transaction centre.”
Yes, maybe it would have been nice if we had more scenes of actual prophetic ministration to highlight the genuine ministry but Arome’s appearance did enough for me.
In Elijah’s time, the Bible spoke more of the activities of the 400 prophets of Baal and there was only a line about the remnant 7,000 who did not bow to Baal. There was a reason for that. The focus on Baal and his prophets highlighted the deep presence of evil but how they fall on Mount Carmel also illustrates the fatal end that awaits evil.
I think it is high time we rested from this relentless bashing of this movie produced by The Winlos.
First, none of those who are angry received the instruction for the movie from the LORD with them. They are answerable to ONLY the One who gave them the job and we won’t tell Him how He should tell them to do it.
Second, those who are not fake do not need to worry about what is projected in the movie. Someone who sells the original should indeed be happy when the fake is exposed.
The Winlos should be left alone to do what God has called them to do. Their message is to the people who must be rescued from the grip of false prophets.
Genuine prophets should be happy and not bashing them all over the space. The original does not need to get worried when the fake is hung out in the open. If anything, the original should be happy because the floor is being wiped.
It is to the advantage of the authentic that the false imitation is being exposed. If the supposed authentic is agree at such development, then its patrons must flee. Light does not fight when darkness is flogged.
God has the right to purge the prophetic ministry, and indeed the church, through any means that works, at his discretion. And I believe this is one of such.
Let’s leave the false prophets to do this work of getting angry.
My rating of the movie is 8.5/10. It is an excellent watch and I recommend to EVERY believer.
